FamousPOS Mobile Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the FamousPOS mobile app for Android ("the app") handles information. The app is published by Albatross Vibe, Pakistan ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Who the app is for
The app is a companion to the FamousPOS point-of-sale and business management service. It is for staff of businesses that already have a FamousPOS account. It is not intended for children under 18.
Information the app handles
- Sign-in details: your business code, your email address or username, and your password. Your password is sent once to sign in and is never stored on the phone.
- Session tokens: after sign-in, the app keeps its sign-in tokens (access and refresh) and your business code in the phone's encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore) so you stay signed in. Signing out deletes the tokens; choosing a different business or uninstalling the app also removes the business code.
- Business data you view: when you open a screen, the app loads your business's data from its FamousPOS server, such as sales, receipts, products and stock, shifts, reports, and customer names and credit balances. What you can see is limited by the role your business gave you.
- Business data you enter: what you record in the app is sent to the same server and saved there, as it would be at the till: sales and their payments, refunds, shifts started and ended with their cash counts, new products, purchases from vendors, and new customers' name, phone number and email address. What you can record is limited by your role.
- Camera: if you use the barcode scanner, the camera is used on the phone only to read the barcode. Images are not saved or sent anywhere. You can deny camera access and type the barcode instead.
- Receipts and report PDFs: these are created on the phone when you print or share them, and go only where you choose to send them.
What the app does not do
It has no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting tools. It does not access your location, contacts, photos, messages or files, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Where data goes
The app talks only to your business's FamousPOS server at https://[business code]-pos.famouspos.com, over encrypted HTTPS. We do not sell data or share it with third parties for their own use. The server records standard technical logs, such as IP address, time and request, to keep the service secure and working.
Whose data it is
Business data belongs to the business that uses FamousPOS. That business decides what is recorded about its staff and customers. We process it on the business's behalf under its FamousPOS agreement.
Retention and deletion
Data on your phone is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app. Business data on the server is kept for as long as your business keeps its FamousPOS account, or as its agreement and the law require. To access, correct or delete your personal information, contact your business's administrator, or email [email protected] and we will help within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and session tokens are stored in encrypted storage on the phone. Access is controlled by your FamousPOS username, password and role.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address and update the date above.
